Roger McIntosh

Roger McIntosh

Roger McIntosh established North West Physiotherapy in 1996 after working as a senior physiotherapist in both the private and public sectors in Australia and the UK. Since then, the practice has gone from strength to strength, winning acclaim and accolades from the local business community.

Roger has worked as a physiotherapist for the South Queensland Crushers Rugby League team in the NRL and has since worked as physiotherapist for Queensland Cup Rugby League teams and Brisbane Premier League soccer teams. Roger is also strongly affiliated with North West Hospital.

A strong believer in developing staff to their full potential, Roger provides leadership and support to all staff at North West Physiotherapy to help them achieve their goals. For the past four years, Roger has been recognized by the Quest Newspaper Achiever Awards.

Roger's personable and trusting style is based on mutual respect and open, honest communication. He brings this commitment to all elements of the practice to ensure North West Physiotherapy meets your every need.

Married, with three boys, Roger has a passion for coaching junior sporting teams and is a member of several sporting clubs including Mitchelton FC and West Arana RLFC.

David Goodwin

David Goodwin

David brings fifteen years' experience to North West Physiotherapy. As senior physiotherapist, David has been the chief physiotherapist for A-league football team, the Newcastle Jets and has also worked for the A league Brisbane Roar football team.

A trained BOUNCE Back instructor and acupuncturist, David is constantly updating his skills and in 2009 he completed further studies in muscle energy, myofascial release, functional fascial taping, running and biomechanics, advanced core conditioning and Mulligan's Concepts.

Highly active in the professional community, David has been the President of the Hunter Group Australian Physiotherapy Association, and a committee member of Sports Medicine Australia (Hunter Group). A trainer, presenter and examiner in the area of sports medicine, David is strongly involved in training and developing the skills of other physiotherapists. As such, David provides training to both staff at the practice and to student physiotherapists. In his downtime, David enjoys participating in football, triathlons and athletics.

Ian Alberts

Ian Alberts

Ian has a strong focus on sports physiotherapy and has worked with many sports clubs at the elite level in both the UK and Australia, including the Super League team Huddersfield Giants in the English Rugby League. Currently, Ian manages sports physiotherapy work for Pine Hills Football Club in the Brisbane Premier League.

Ian is also a trained BOUNCE Back Spinal stability program instructor. Truly committed to giving his patients the tools to work and play pain-free, Ian has a keen interest in continuing his education and improving as a clinician. Happy and outgoing, Ian enjoys all sports including the odd round of poker.

Tim West

Tim West

Tim has an interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, chest physiotherapy and hydrotherapy at North West Physiotherapy. Tim works to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions to help patients regain full function. Aiming to make your visit to the physiotherapist a rewarding one, Tim aims to empower patients to take control of their treatment by providing self-management strategies and achievable goals. Motivated to look at alternative therapies and options for his patients, Tim brings a wide range of skills and a high standard of care to the practice. A recent UQ graduate, Tim won the Dean's Commendation for High Achievement in 2005, 2007 and 2009. Tim is also the club physiotherapist for the first-division Mitchelton Football Club in Brisbane. Friendly, easygoing and a keen basketballer, Tim also occasionally coaches kids in a local volunteer basketball program.

Ben Dansie

Ben Dansie

Ben comes to North West Physiotherapy with a Masters qualification in Physiotherapy and a strong background in high-level sports, both as a competitor and physiotherapist.

Ben is the physiotherapist for Eastern Suburbs FC in the Brisbane Premier League, which has helped him develop a wealth of experience in sports physiotherapy.

Ben is a keen cricketer and enjoys fishing.

Sarah Theriault

Sarah Theriault - Photo coming soon

Sarah has a Masters qualification in Physiotherapy and has a special interest in musculoskeletal and post surgical physiotherapy. Sarah also has an interest in alternative therapies and is trained in both pilates and acupuncture/dry needling.

A background in personal training and exercise science helps Sarah to teach her patients how to participate in their own rehabilitation and recovery. Very experienced as a physiotherapy patient herself, Sarah understands the frustrations and struggles on the road to recovery and is happy to be able to help others get results and prevent reoccurrence.

Sarah enjoys many sports, including soccer and gridiron, and greatly misses her native Canadian ice hockey.

E. Maree Sweetman (Maree Sweetman)

Maree Sweetman

Maree is an experienced physiotherapist who has been with North West Physiotherapy for over five years. With a special interest in women's health, Maree is building on her skills and training in this area and is working towards developing and expanding musculo-skeletal based therapy approaches.

Maree has done postgraduate study in women's health and brings stellar academic credentials with her to the practice. Maree has won both the Margaret Nicoll Memorial prize for Clinical Practice and the prestigious Aura Forster Prize, top honours for the highest theoretical proficiency during her Bachelor of Physiotherapy studies. Maree is a keen gardener in her spare time and enjoys walking for fitness.

Helen Myles

Helen Myles

Helen is one of our most experienced physios and has been with North West Physiotherapy since early 2006. Helen has many years of experience treating musculoskeletal problems both in Australia and the UK. She has a particular interest in ongoing rehab for spinal patients via pilates exercises and also uses acupuncture/dry needling as part of her treatment if required.

Since the birth of her baby girl, Helen is now working part time at the clinic, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Natalie Webster

Senior Receptionist - full time

Natalie Webster

Natalie, our vivacious senior receptionist is the 'smiling face of North West Physiotherapy'. Natalie has been with the practice for over 5 years and in 2010 received the Employee Excellence Award at the Quest Business Achiever Awards, an incredible achievement reflecting her dedication and professionalism. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice, Natalie works closely with the entire team to bring you the best standard of patient care from the minute you walk through the door. Natalie is currently completing her Certificate IV in Business Administration and in her spare time she works on her fitness and enjoys mixed martial arts.

Jacquie Stansfield

Jacquie is a receptionist at North West Physiotherapy and brings a wealth of experience in medical reception to the practice. She can assist with your initial enquiry and manage your appointments schedule. Working closely with the team, Jacquie is positive and highly professional in her role and looks forward to assisting you with any enquiries. Jacquie enjoys spending time with family and friends and being a nanna keeps her busy outside of the practice.

Aleisha Sweetman

Aleisha is part of our friendly and professional reception team who can assist with your initial enquiries and assists with administrative duties. Aleisha works closely with the team of healthcare specialists and physiotherapists to help make your North West Physiotherapy experience a positive one. With her happy demeanor and sunny smile, Aleisha enjoys singing and is studying at university to become a teacher.
